There are various coaching methodologies, but the approach described emphasizes the coachee’s identity in God, seeking God’s vision, and involving the Holy Spirit. Coaching is seen as a tool for intentional spiritual development and discipline.
Discipleship involves teaching and mentoring by a more mature believer, providing advice. In coaching, the emphasis is on leading the coachee to make their own discoveries and establish a unique growth process guided by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
Like Sunday School, coaching is not explicitly mentioned in the Bible, but its principles align with biblical concepts. Jesus used powerful questions, stories, and metaphors, similar to coaching methods.
